Rotate a PDF and save it permanently

You can rotate a PDF in almost any viewer — but close the file, open it again, and it's sideways once more. That's because most viewers only rotate the view, not the file itself. When you send it on, the other person sees it sideways too.

This tool writes the rotation into the PDF. Choose 90° clockwise, 180° or 90° counter-clockwise, and either all pages or just some (2, 5-6). Download the result and it opens correctly everywhere: in browsers, on phones, in Acrobat and when printed.

Rotation is stored as a page setting, so nothing is redrawn and the quality is exactly the same. If different pages need different turns, Organize Pages lets you rotate each page separately with thumbnails. You can also add several PDFs at once and turn them all the same way.

All of it runs in your browser: your document is never uploaded.

Questions and answers

Why does my PDF go back to sideways after I rotate it?

Your viewer only rotated the view. This tool saves the rotation in the file itself.

Yes. Type its number in Pages, for example 3.

Will rotating reduce quality?

No. The page content isn't changed, only its orientation.

Is my file uploaded?

No, rotation happens on your device.
