Merge PDF files

Merge PDF joins several PDF files into one document, in the order you choose. Drop in your files, drag them into place and download a single PDF — handy for sending one attachment instead of five, putting a report together from separate chapters, or keeping all the papers for an application in one place.

You can mix PDFs from anywhere: scans from a copier, documents exported from Word, invoices downloaded from a portal. Pages of different sizes are kept as they are, so an A4 letter and a US Letter form can sit in the same file. Add files in several rounds if they're in different folders.

The merging happens inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, so contracts, bank statements and ID scans stay on your own device. That also makes it fast: there is no upload to wait for, even with large files.

The pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable, links keep working and the quality doesn't change. Have a pile of scanned pages in the wrong order? Try Smart Arrange, which reads the page numbers for you.

Questions and answers

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Merge PDF runs completely in your browser. The files are read and joined on your device and never sent to our server.

How many files can I merge at once?

Up to 50 files, each up to 300 MB. Very large jobs depend on your device's memory, so on an older phone it is better to merge in smaller batches.

Will the quality get worse?

No. Pages are copied without being re-compressed, so text, images and links stay exactly as they were. If the merged file is too big to send, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers. On a phone, use the arrow buttons to change the order.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not directly. Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know the password), then merge.
