Add page numbers to a PDF
Page Numbers adds numbers to every page of your PDF. Choose one of six positions — top or bottom, left, centre or right — the font size and the first number. Write your own format using {n} for the page number and {total} for the page count: Page {n} of {total}, {n}/{total} or just {n}.
Numbers are placed a little inside the page edge, so printers don't cut them off, and they're drawn on top of the existing content. If your document already has a number in that spot, pick another position. Each page keeps its own size and orientation.
Tick Skip first page to leave the cover unnumbered, which is what most reports and theses need. Formats can be written in any language: Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese and Russian are all drawn correctly, with the right letters and joins.
Numbering happens in your browser. Your document is never uploaded, and the rest of each page is left exactly as it was.

How do I write 'Page 1 of 10'?
Enter Page {n} of {total} as the text. {n} becomes the page number and {total} the number of pages.
Can I leave the cover page without a number?
Yes. Tick Skip first page (cover).
Can I start counting at another number?
Yes, set First number — for example 5 if your document continues another one.
Does it support other languages?
Yes. Text in Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic and Greek is drawn with suitable fonts, loaded only when needed.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Page numbers are added on your device.
