Add a header and footer to a PDF
Header & Footer places the same line of text at the top or bottom of every page of a PDF. Typical uses are a document title, a company or school name, a date, a case number or a note such as Confidential — do not distribute.
A header can identify a document at a glance: Annual report 2026 — Draft, a client name or a reference number for a case. Keeping the text short makes it fit on small pages. For text that should run across the middle of each page, a watermark is the better choice.
Headers and footers make printed documents easier to keep together and make it clear where a page came from when it's separated from the rest. They work well together with Page Numbers, which adds the running numbers, and Watermark, which stamps text across the page.
