Remove the password from your own PDF

Banks, mobile operators and payroll systems often send statements as password-protected PDFs — the password is usually your date of birth, part of your account number or your customer ID. That's sensible in transit, but annoying when you want to file, print, merge or upload your own documents and have to type the password every time.

This tool removes the password from your own PDF. Enter the password you already use to open it, and you get the same document back without protection. It doesn't crack or guess passwords: if you don't know the password, it can't help, and it isn't meant for documents you're not allowed to open.

Unlocking needs our secure server. Your file and password travel over an encrypted connection; files are encrypted, deleted right after download, and never kept longer than 10 minutes. The password is never stored.

No. It's used once to open the file and then discarded.

Can I add a password back later?

Yes, with Protect PDF, using a password of your choice.
