Remove a password from a PDF
Unlock PDF removes the password from a PDF you're allowed to open, so you don't have to type it every time. Many banks, phone companies and payroll systems send statements as password-protected PDFs; unlocking your own copies makes them easier to file, merge, print and upload.
Unlocking doesn't change the pages: text, images, links and bookmarks stay exactly as they were. Afterwards you can compress, merge, sign or edit the file with our other tools, which can't work on password-protected PDFs. If you need to share the document, consider protecting it again with your own password.
You need the current password: this tool doesn't crack or guess passwords, and it can't open files that aren't yours to open. Enter the password, and you get the same document back without protection.
Unlocking runs on our secure server. Your file and the password travel over an encrypted connection, the file is encrypted on arrival and deleted right after download, never kept longer than 10 minutes. We never store your password.
